Who Is Shaping Your Child's Life?

The Rhode Island Family Institute is not connected to any one school but we are concerned about protecting the freedom of all Christian Schools to operate without government interference. Christian Schools teach Christian values that are often attacked as ‘hate speech.’ We are glad to be deeply connected with this collaboration. When it comes to preserving our religious freedoms in Christian education, we are ‘BETTER TOGETHER!’

Not long ago, the leaders of two Christian schools in the RI/MA region contacted me to facilitate a meeting to discuss how their schools might collaborate together rather than compete with each another.  Their main objective was to give parents options other than the public schools, and in the process save money and improve the quality of their education. Public schools are free but as we have seen in recent years, they have gone far beyond traditional education, crossed parental boundaries and have ventured into shaping children’s morals and values, often without parents even knowing.

God is at work doing something bigger! That first meeting with two schools, grew quickly to six schools and at our last meeting in March 2024 we numbered nine schools with a desire to work together and we have met regularly to do so. Three of the schools are brand new and will be opening in the next school year.

We met to discuss possibilities and I am very pleased to say the meeting generated some creative options to explore together.

Here are some of the agenda points discussed among the leaders at the last meeting with a wonderful spirit of unity:

1 - The need for more Christian High Schools in greater RI/MA

2 - A shared Sports Program

3 - Fine Arts opportunities

4 - Connecting with the growing homeschool community.

5 - Co-ops and Hybrid models

6 - Sharing resources: Special-Ed teachers and Subs etc.

Tuitions, locations and grades will vary, but the idea is to give parents options that will fit their family needs and finances. This email will have a wide circulation, please PRAY for each school, our continued unity and the impact they will have for the ‘Kingdom of God’ here in RI and MA.
